12,000 books… and a Few Extras

  • by

Beats and BooksBeats and Books exists to promote education through integration of music and literacy focusing on vulnerable children and young people across Africa. The desire is to equip and develop children with the ability to lead worship and teach the Bible. Grace Klein Community provides The Leadership Experience, South Africa, much needed emotional, spiritual and financial support as they continue to show the love of Christ.

Beats and BooksIn 2013, Grace Klein Community members began a massive collection of books, musical instruments, computer equipment, clothing, shoes etc. to help equip Beats and Books in their vision for a Library and Music academy. Since 2011, The Leadership Experience has been working with children in a local township teaching vocals, instruments, and literacy.

A little less than four years later, a container left the Grace Klein Community office on December 20, 2016, filled to capacity with 249 boxes of books, 12 boxes of games and puzzles, 23 boxes of computer equipment, 242 bags/boxes of clothing, 7 bags of baby items, one electronic keyboard, and 103 misc. boxes of musical instruments, toiletries, shoes, etc., thanks to the thousands of donors that participated in this project! One book at a time, one pair of shoes at a time, and one instrument at a time, we slowly reached our goal.

How will we ever remember the thousands of people who have made this specific project possible?
