Our Sunday Best

“For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” – Psalm 107:9

Sunday is a time where most of us slow down after the hectic week, and finally have time to reflect on how we are coping and what we are grateful to have. Our Sunday Trade Market is a highlight for most. We often have familiar faces, as well as a handful of newcomers; all of which bring their own special energy into the office and experience.

Trade Market Sundays have waves of calm lulls and bustling action! As wee ones scamper throughout the house holding small cakes and binkies, volunteers help happy mamas and old friends. With a crew of volunteers helping everyone who comes through the doors, everything from food distribution to preparation runs smoothly–despite the magnitude of families in the office at any given time and our privilege to participate in organized chaos.

Each week our wonderful food rescue donors truly outdo themselves in giving and providing from their overflow for the community. We would love to give special thanks to Trader Joe’s, Panera Bread, Publix, Heavenly Donuts and our other wonderful partners who prefer to remain anonymous, for their cornucopia of delicious, fresh goods.  Our donors, volunteers and participants all work together to make us better.

Recipients and volunteers leave Sunday Trade Market glowing from all the warmth and sweetness encountered in the few short hours of operation. Our community members are diverse, yet our sense of stewardship and oneness brings everyone together. Grace Klein Community strives to show how possible – and powerful – the concept of life shared can be in our current, fast-paced world.

If you would like to partake in the Sunday Trade Market as a volunteer, please email Natalie at natalie@gracekleincommunity.com. If you would like to just come and see what resources we can provide you, your family, or anyone else who may need some assistance, the Sunday Trade Market is open most every Sunday (except the weekend of Food Delivery) from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM. Come by and join the fun!
