The Elevate summer internship program was first piloted in 2021 with the intention to serve underprivileged students in the Eastlake area. Since the creation of the program, we have expanded our reach to students in Birmingham and surrounding areas in both Jefferson and Shelby counties.

Elevate is a free 4-week internship for high school students in Birmingham and surrounding areas. The program is broken up into two sessions, 4-weeks in June and 4-weeks in July. We meet at Liberty Church in Hoover, Monday-Friday 9 am-4 pm. Students may choose one or both sessions if space allows. Our program offers:

  • Math and reading support
  • ACT prep
  • Character and leadership development
  • Volunteer opportunities to add to resume
  • Job readiness training
  • Career-focused guest speakers
  • Financial aid workshops
  • Unique fun Fridays
  • Free lunch and snacks served daily
  • Free food box to take home daily
