Host a Food Drive

Have you ever been in the position where you so desire pancakes but can’t afford the mix or the syrup? Have you ever thought “donuts would be a nice treat today,” and they appeared at your front door? Have you been close to running out of laundry detergent trying to stretch every last drop until you had enough spare change to purchase some… and then God provides unexpectedly? All these scenarios happened to one of our food recipients and through the efforts of community, God provides for hundreds of similar stories in the lives of other precious families.

Grace Klein Community is so thankful to each and every family, business, church, sports team and/or home-school co-op who graciously offer to host food drives in support of our monthly food delivery ministry.

A big thanks to ALL who have hosted food drives this year: Boy Scouts – Troop 23, Shelby Crossings Christian School, Cornerstone Co-op, Regions, Rocky Ridge Learning Center, Tiger Rock Martial Arts, The Church at Brook Hills youth, and Mugshots, Inverness Corners.

Here’s a list of the various items collected:

Non-Perishable Food Items:
Rice, Beans, Pasta, Peanut Butter, Instant Potatoes,
Cereal/Oatmeal, Canned Fruits/Vegetables/Meats,

Our monthly food delivery ministry is a great way to get involved in the community of Birmingham, Alabama. Our volunteers go out once a month, all over Birmingham, to deliver food boxes to families in need of food. But, it’s about so much more than food… we seek to build relationships with people and walk through hard times with them. We wholeheartedly believe that meaningful, long-term relationships are a key factor in alleviating poverty.
