THE LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE – LESOTHO

SERVING THE PEOPLE OF LESOTHO AS AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST FOR THE GLORY OF GOD AND DISCIPLING OTHERS TO DO THE SAME

Godfrey and ElizabethGrace Klein Community had the pleasure of meeting Godfrey and Elizabeth this month, Program Directors of The Leadership Experience in Lesotho, Africa.

We had the opportunity of supporting them at a worship gathering hosted by CrossBridge Church in Birmingham, AL, and Godfrey and Elizabeth also served with our local food delivery ministry during their time in Birmingham.

During their stay, Elizabeth made mention that one of their specific urgent needs was for a cellphone, in working order, for ministry and communication purposes. God surprised us! He provided not one, but two cellphones for their ministry!

A LITTLE HISTORY…

“The vision for LXP Lesotho was conceived in 2007 when I, Godfrey, went home to my village Nkoeng, just outside Butha-Buthe, Lesotho for a two week holiday while I was a student in LXP’s training program. God revealed to me the deep needs of children growing up without clear direction for their lives., without values to make the right choices, and without parents to love them. The results of this are youth living impure lifestyles who then die at young ages because of HIV/AIDS, who have no goals or guiding principles, who suffer under poverty of mind, who have no exposure to godly leadership and who are, therefore, living seemingly meaningless lives. Above all, I saw the brokenness and hunger for Jesus in the village – where many people are living with little hope and much affliction.

While I spent the next year serving as a missionary in South Africa, God clarified his vision to reach out to the people of Nkoeng. In 2009, I returned home to start a branch of LXP to reach the people of Lesotho for Jesus and raise up servant-hearted leaders for Africa. Elizabeth joined me in full-time ministry at the end of 2009, and we were married in 2011. We continue to trust God together for transformation in our community and beyond through the sharing of the Gospel and encounters with the power of God.”
