We are so thankful for Western Supermarket in Vestavia and Boy Scout Troop 23 as they care for food insecure families in Birmingham! On Saturday, March 3, from 11-4 pm, these partners held a drive to collect non-perishable food items benefiting families of Grace Klein Community’s monthly food delivery ministry. Way-FM Birmingham, Denise Wallace and Brent Richards, came out on this beautiful, sunny Saturday and promoted the event on the air. Boy Scout Troop 23 ran two tables, one at each entrance and did a great job inviting the Vestavia community to participate. We appreciate the Vestavia Hills community for joining us to make Birmingham better.
Sam Peterson, the Patrol leader for the Phoenix Patrol, which meets at Discovery United Methodist, did an outstanding job directing the troops at the entrances. The troops collected cash donations and bags of canned goods, cereal, sugar, flour, and pasta. Thanks to Doug Peterson and Jon Hogan, Assistant Scoutmaster for being exemplary servant leaders.
We look forward to next quarter when these faithful partners plan to host another Food Drive benefiting Grace Klein Community. If your business, church or club would like to join in, please email [email protected].
