One of our families has been struggling to make ends meet since the father lost his job two years ago. The mother has been working two jobs. Thankfully, the father recently found a job a few weeks ago. They are trusting God for their bills every month and for all their other needs of clothing, food, etc.
Another family felt led to sponsor this family for Christmas to help with clothing and shoes needed for the children. They were able to find many items on sale that fit the needs perfectly.
The mom emailed us this week to let us know how thankful they were for God’s provision for their family. The father and mother wrapped the gifts and put them under the tree. The tag says the child’s name and then in the from section they wrote “love, Jesus.” They have explained to their children that the gifts they will receive are all from Jesus this year.
Isn’t that true for all of us and for our children. None of us provide the gifts we give our children. For some of us, God provides a job, our employer trusts God to provide work and revenue to pay us, God sends business, customers pay for services, God allows the employer to pay us out of God’s blessings, and we receive a check or direct deposit. If we do not have a job, God provides for us through the community around us. He provides food to eat, clothes to wear and the shelter that covers our heads when we sleep. Maybe we should all sign the tags under the tree…
