“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” – Micah 6:8
Justice, love and mercy… all three traits our friend Donna Singleton has in spades. Every time that I come into Grace Klein and I see her here volunteering, I wonder how she has time to do it all. Donna is one of those people that has come by community service the hard way. She has seen firsthand through the time that she ministers at the local jail how much it means to someone to have a helping hand served with a good dose of mercy and love. And we are so very thankful that she has chosen GKC as an outlet in which to pour out hers on our patrons!
Donna has been volunteering with us for over a year and it all started by a small toiletry donation after she saw the GKC truck in her neighborhood. In curiosity, Donna reached out to give and hasn’t slowed down since! These days, Donna uses her heart of mercy and compassion that she cultivates at the county jail to love and console our visitors while they are at Grace Klein. Donna says that, “God continues to show me how very blessed I am. Like everyone else, I’ve faced my own challenges, but God shows me how small and insignificant my challenges can be compared to some of the thing’s others have experienced.”
That understanding and willingness to share is just one of the many reasons why we love Donna Singleton. Giving through giving back and always taking an approach of honoring others above herself. Thank you, Donna, for blessing us at GKC with your many talents and time. We love you!
