A new game each week keeps it interesting, with low to high impact games promoting exercise, mental health and fun. This class is FREE thanks to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama. Harvest Festival at Oak Mountain State Park When: October 12th Location: Oak Mtn State Park – 200 Terrance Dr. Pelham, AL 35124 Time: 9 AM – 5 PM *The Festival is Free with park admission costs.* Parking is FREE and available in the Park Office Lot, the Beach Parking Lot, the Multi-Use Field, South Trail head Lot, and the Playground Parking Lot. The Alabama Wildlife Center will be at the Harvest Festival with a variety of their glove trained education raptors for you to meet! Get to know their feathered ambassadors! They will be at the Festival from 9am until 5pm! The Oak Mountain Interpretive Center is joining us with their Education Ambassadors!! Come and meet snakes, turtles, and other native residents of Oak Mountain State Park! They will join us for the entire festival! The Rusted Roof Barn is bringing some of their ponies for pony rides from iam-2:30pm! Pony rides will be $5 per ride (Pony rides are for ages 3-12). We will also have Cricket, the miniature Unicorn on site for pictures! Pictures will be $1 each! This year, to help with lines, The Rusted Roof barn will have a “fast pass” option! This vendor accepts CASH ONLY. The Alabama Mineral And Lapidary Society is a non-profit club that will be joining us at our Annual Harvest Festival on October 12th! They will be on site letting kiddos pan for gems (in a kiddie pool), touch/look/learn about minerals and rocks found naturally in our ecosystem, provide grab bags for the kids that are full of minerals/fossils/rocks/gemstones for them to take home, rock painting for the little ones, and have a geode cracking station so the kids can see first-hand how geodes are structured! Rock painting is free but donations are accepted. They will have membership information for the club, and geological maps and postcard of Alabama for you to have! They will also have a cab machine set up to demonstrate how they turn rocks into cabochons! Mountain High Outfitters is joining us again this year to provide SUP and kayak Demos! Take a paddle on Double Oak Lake and get some introductory tips on how to SUP and Kayak! They will also have the latest outdoor gear, games, and other items for sale! If that wasn’t enough, they are also bringing out their Rock Wall!! Come Paddle, Shop, and Climb with Mountain High Outfitters during the Harvest Festival! Liberty Church Fall Festival When: November 13, 2019 Location: Liberty Church, 2732 Old Rocky Ridge Rd, Birmingham, AL 35216 Time: 11 AM – 3 PM Join us for this completely free Fall Festival that is perfect for families with kids of all ages! There will be tons of candy, inflatables, a movie, games for all ages, giveaways, hay ride, music, and a chili cookoff! The date is undetermined yet.
