Cross Power – Business Development Intern from Samford University

  • by

Grace Klein Community is honored to have multiple Global Partners, one being Beats and Books in Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa. During the 2024 summer, we were able to send two Samford University students to intern with one of our global partners.

The Brock School of Business allowed Cross Power to complete a class credit while serving as a business development intern in an international context. We are thankful for the partnership with Samford University and Beats and Books and look forward to engaging more students in the experience.

Enjoy Cross’ brief summary below of his unforgettable experience.

“Hey! My name is Cross Power, and I had the privilege to go to Jeffreys Bay, South Africa for a Business Development Internship at Beats and Books! For the 5 weeks I was there, I focused on bringing overall awareness to the Beats and Books mission to empower children musically, intellectually, and spiritually. Some avenues we pursued were in-person meetings with local businesses in JBay, boosting online exposure through Instagram and Facebook, and offering opportunities for others to partner with us for the Women’s Conference on August 3rd, 2024.

After a few weeks of relying on the Lord in our work, we were able to see Him providing for the Women’s Conference through door prizes such as vouchers, in-kind donations such as drinking water and wifi, and sponsorships for some ladies to attend at no cost. I can only imagine what He has planned for the event! When you are with the Lord in everything you do, there is never a limit.

On a relational level, I enjoyed the opportunity to get to know the students at Beats and Books, especially connecting with a few of the older guys. We were able to witness the Lord working uniquely in each of their lives (e.g. deep confessions and baptisms).

Finally, I want to thank Grace Klein Community for their support and eagerness to say YES to Jesus every single day. I also want to thank the Ngosa family for being the most hospitable, loving, and encouraging people I have ever met in my life. The time I got to spend with them was an invaluable experience I will never forget.

Thank you, Lord, for your provision and protection which never fails. Your love is our hope and strength. Regardless of the obstacles we will face ahead, I know He will never stop loving, never cease to be our comfort, and will never leave us!

With Love, Cross”
