April 2025

April was a pivotal month as we hosted the eMI team, working together to refine plans and logistics for our next phase. We also continued conversations in the community regarding the land and development of the school. Our family and the dreams of Koinonia MCCS continue to grow here in Man.

(And a bright HELLO from 7 week old Keza!)

eMI Visit

The eMi team’s 10-day visit was an incredible time of collaboration and vision-building. Immersing themselves in Man, they experienced the land firsthand and worked tirelessly to develop the initial designs for our future campus. Their insightful questions challenged us to articulate the heart of our vision for the school, helping to shape designs that truly reflect our mission. By the time they presented their plans on the final day, we were filled with hope and excitement, envisioning the day when these buildings will stand as a blessing for our students and the wider community. The final designs will take several months to complete, but we’re excited to share the vision and initial plans with you! Join us for a video chat on

-May 10 at 11 AM Eastern Time

We will email a joinable link via Google Meet the day before the call. Whether you’re interested in the school’s initial design plans, want to learn about our next steps, or simply want to catch up and say hi, we’d love to see you there. We’ll also be happy to answer your questions and share ways you can be involved.

Summer Camps

This summer, we are thrilled to host sport and English camps, with plans to begin mid-June. Over the next month, we will focus on preparing and organizing these camps, aiming to provide wholesome activities that inspire growth and learning. Enza is already actively engaged in the basketball community, and we look forward to meeting more needs through these programs. Please join us in prayer as we navigate challenges such as renting facilities—since our own space is not yet ready—securing funding, finalizing curriculum, and gathering volunteers. May the Lord prepare the hearts of those we will serve and guide us as we show His love through these efforts.

Many of you have asked for updates regarding the flooding at Enza’s mom’s house. The recent flooding brought significant challenges, but we’re thankful that 70% of the donations were saved. Our sister Mariam, shown in the photo below, went above and beyond, washing everything affected by the muddy waters. Thanks to her efforts, everything has been cleaned and moved to mom’s new house. However, we are still searching for a more permanent space to store the supplies reserved for Koinonia’s programs. In addition to what has already been brought to Man, we’re expecting a second shipping container with the final donations to arrive later in May. Please pray for sufficient funding and suitable storage to ensure these resources are well cared for and put to good use.

Ways to Support Koinonia and the Konés

We are in a season of great opportunity but also significant need as we navigate the next steps for Koinonia. Below, you’ll find a list of the current projects and needs we are praying about and focusing our resources on. Every contribution, whether big or small, makes a difference and helps move Koinonia’s mission forward. We invite you to consider donating toward any of these efforts or joining our team as a monthly donor.

As summer approaches, the online tutoring jobs that help sustain us will pause, leaving us reliant solely on the support we receive from generous friends like you. Your partnership not only sustains our work but also fuels the vision God has given us for this community. Thank you for considering how you might join us in this journey.

Remember to designate donations: GLOBAL: KONE SCHOOL, COTE D’IVOIRE

Have you purchased our book yet? We will continue to sell this special item on Amazon throughout the year for $40 to celebrate Caitlin’s 40th birthday. Look to social media for occasional sneak peaks into the book.
