KWATHU HOME

BIRTHDAYSApril was indeed a wonderful month filled with celebrations for our family! We had the joy of celebrating the birthdays of our three incredible children. Austin reached the milestone age of 21 on April 13, 2025, while both Michael and Jane celebrated turning 12 years old. It was a time of happiness and love as we marked these special occasions together.

EASTER CELEBRATIONS

In April, we organized an Easter event for the kids in our community to teach them about the significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The day was filled with various activities such as bible sharing, poetry reading, dancing, scripture quizzes, and, of course, a delightful meal shared together. It was a joyous occasion where the children showcased their knowledge and creativity, deepening their understanding of our faith. Below are the pictures of the celebration.

On April 29, 2025, we took the children from the Kwathu Home out for ice cream. It was a heartwarming experience to witness the joy on the children’s faces as they left the home to savor their sweet treats. Sharing moments like these with the children brought happiness to all involved and created lasting memories filled with laughter and smiles.

On the 11th of April, 2025, it was open day, where parents collected their children’s end-of-term reports to see how far they have progressed in their academics.

VOLUNTEERS

In April, we had the pleasure of welcoming two enthusiastic volunteers from Germany to join us for a three-month volunteering opportunity. Upon their arrival, they wasted no time in immersing themselves in our projects, including lending a hand to paint the exterior of our kitchen. We are truly grateful for their support and are thrilled to have them with us.

MEETING WITH THE MINISTRY OF SOCAIL WELFARE

In April, the government ministry of Social Welfare Department visited us to discuss important topics such as the reintegration process and the implementation of child support software to store information about children in childcare homes. The meeting was successful and we had a productive discussion about these critical issues.
