In 2022 Pastor Frederick from Vinnytsia, Ukraine, lived with Grace Klein Community founders, Jason and Jenny Waltman, as he was undergoing cancer treatments at UAB.
As God does, their hearts were knit together, and Fred became a part of the Grace Klein Community family.
The war was in the early stages and Fred and his church transformed their church into a refuge center to care for the people of Ukraine.
Frederick Ankai-Taylor, Pastor and Lena his wife – serve with Church of the Risen Christ & as Directors of Hope Center in Vinnytsia, Ukraine.
Hope Center Relief Program is committed to demonstrating God’s love in a war zone and preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ.
A perspective from 2024 of the people the church is serving:
Today over 50 refugees are living in the church and sharing one shower. If we can help expedite use of the new building many lives will be touched.
Watch the latest video update for a general idea of the progress of the building and where our team will be working:
Our team will be traveling from July 22, 2025, to August 10, 2025, to work as long of days as possible to help move the renovations forward.
Right now, only four Ukrainians are able to work on the construction. Imagine if ten more men could come work beside them!?
The team hopes to raise $20,000 towards travel, trip costs, and to contribute towards supplies for the project.
Please be in prayer for the men who have committed to travel into a war zone to love and support our brothers and sisters in Christ.
We hope you will contribute to further impact the Kingdom of God alongside Grace Klein Community.
“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” -1 John 3:16
