Lackson’s 11th Birthday
We had a delightful time celebrating Lackson turning 11 this October. The occasion was a complete joy, filled with lots of laughter, a delicious cake, and truly cherished moments.
Recreation
In alignment with our commitment to holistic development, our children participated in an enriching recreational swimming activity this October. Periodically, we organize these excursions away from the child care facility to provide the children with valuable experiential learning opportunities and exposure to environments outside of their regular setting.
International Day of a Girl Child
Kwathu joined the global community to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child. This year’s theme, “THE GIRL I AM, THE CHANGE I LEAD: GIRLS ON THE FRONTLINES OF CRISIS,” underscores the day’s importance. We proudly honor and recognize girls’ critical role, celebrating their education, rights, and the ongoing fight for gender equality.
Child Justice Week
Kwathu participated in Child Justice Week, an event centered on connection and collaboration. We had a fantastic opportunity to gather with numerous child care facilities and key stakeholders. The day was a huge success, dedicated to fostering meaningful engagement, networking, and socialization.
Kwathu School
The school had a packed October as we prepared for the Reception and Grade 7 graduations. A major highlight was the Grade 7 promotion exams (final exams for Grade 8 entry), which they successfully completed between October 26th and October 31st, 2025.
Teachers Day Celebration
Kwathu teachers joined the global community to celebrate International Teachers’ Day, a globally recognized occasion to honor the hard work of educators. The event was held this year on October 3rd (shifted from the usual October 5th date due to the weekend). We celebrated in alignment with the powerful theme, ‘Empowering Educators: Strengthening Resilience, Building Sustainability,’ recognizing the crucial role teachers play.
Independence Day
Kwathu participated in the national festivities commemorating the Independence Day. The Republic of Zambia marked its 61st anniversary of independence on the 24th of October, 2025.
Keep Highlands Clean & Green
The primary goal of the “Keep Highlands Clean, Green, and Healthy Campaign” is to encourage people across the communities to embrace cleanliness, practice proper waste management, and take responsibility for the environment. This campaign occurs on a monthly basis, aiming to instil lasting habits and values in individuals and communities.
- We are filled with gratitude towards the Lord for providing his guidance and support to Kwathu School, enabling them to successfully carry out the grade 7 exams with no issues at all.
- God has blessed us and enabled us to reach our monthly goals through His abundant grace. We are truly grateful for His guidance and support throughout this month.
- We express our gratitude to God for our friends and partners, whose unwavering support and prayers are instrumental in enabling us to carry out our work effectively.
We continue to trust God for provision in the following areas to strengthen our programs and community impact:
- Earth Moving Machine – to support land development and agricultural expansion.
- Borehole / Water Drilling Machine – for community empowerment and improved access to clean water.
- Support for the Adult Literacy Program – to help adults in the community gain essential reading and writing skills.
- Support for the Community Outreach Program in Senkobo – to continue providing psychosocial, spiritual, and practical support to families in need.
