When you see an upcoming Worship on WineRidge, you want to mark your calendar and be there! Imagine intimate worship, snacks, fellowship with other believers, prayer, encouragement and great acoustics all in one place and you have a glimpse of our house worship gatherings.
On August 4, 2016, The Hedgerow Folk, from Auburn, AL, came to Birmingham to lead our Worship on WineRidge. They took us into a sweet place of prayer and worship with Jesus, leading us in prayers, sharing the meanings behind songs and leading us in singing together, as worship to our Father. Each of their songs are written as a stand alone devotional to experience a depth of Jesus, His comfort, our identity in Christ, our scars, His redemption and our surrender. They prepared all the words on their website so that attendees could follow along with the lyrics as they played.
Everyone met someone new. Old friends reunited. God stories were shared. Appetizers and desserts were enjoyed. Jesus was exalted.

THE HISTORY
The Hedgerow Folk was formed out of a local
church body in Auburn, Alabama in 2012 where Amanda Hammett and Jon Myles were leading worship together. The two quickly realized that there was something special about the combination of their voices and began to pursue the idea of recording some original music. Jon had been in a few previous bands but was sensing the Lord leading him to begin to write in a new kind of way that centered around quiet reflection and being in an intimate relationship with Christ. Bryant Hains and Jon had previously played together in another band for several years and had really begun to have a mutual respect for each other as artists, recognizing that each one had something unique to offer when it came to creating music. After some prayer and consideration, Jon, Bryant, and Amanda began working and writing together and eventually solidified their group under the name The Hedgerow Folk (taken from a line of a C.S. Lewis poem).
THE HEART
We really felt early on that whatever we created should be a blessing to all those who might hear it. We see ourselves now as more of a ministry than a band in the conventional sense, and our desire, above all else, is to be useful in connecting people with the Father. We want to create art that leads people to slow down, reflect, and hear God’s voice in their lives.
