Briarwood Jr. High Basketball Cheerleaders – Serve Day

On October 19, 2016, 15 Briarwood Junior High Basketball Cheerleaders served at the Grace Klein Community office with hearts open to give all they had, wherever the need.

The cheerleaders divided into 3 groups, 5 girls in each, and listened attentively to instructions given by Scott to ensure they would get their assigned tasks done with excellence. The first group built boxes for food delivery distribution, the second filled the boxes with non-perishable items, while the third group moved the completed boxes out the door and into the box truck, ready to be transported to Asbury United Methodist Church. Every 20 minutes the groups rotated so everyone was able to experience each aspect of the preparation. It “just so happened” that our monthly food delivery distribution, which takes place once every month, was scheduled for the weekend to follow. It takes many hands to prepare the 200 plus food boxes for our food recipient friends each month. We are so thankful for the Briarwood Junior High Basketball Cheerleaders, who served so well in helping us prepare, and for making the load lighter for staff and volunteers during October’s food delivery week.

“The Briarwood Junior High Basketball Cheerleaders kicked off their season this year serving at Grace Klein Community by packing 200 food boxes in 2 hours! They had the truck loaded and ready to deliver! Such a blessing to help serve with such a needed ministry!”
– Debbie Glasgow, Cheer Coach
