As a marketing intern at Grace Klein Community during the Fall 2024 term, Lynzie Liddell had the opportunity to lead and execute the marketing campaign for Giving Tuesday—a significant event that celebrated the work God is doing through this incredible organization. This experience not only shaped her professional skills but also deepened her personal growth, leaving a lasting impact on both Lynzie and the Grace Klein team.

Lynzie’s role began with designing and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy tailored to the needs of Grace Klein Community. She researched best practices, analyzed data, and created content that would engage supporters and raise awareness about Giving Tuesday. Her strategic thinking was evident in the robust approach she took, ensuring every aspect of the campaign aligned with the organization’s mission.
One of Lynzie’s key accomplishments was executing a Mailchimp email campaign that reached over 8,000 individuals, including donors and volunteers. The campaign effectively raised awareness of Giving Tuesday and provided clear ways for people to get involved. In addition, Lynzie managed Grace Klein’s social media platforms, creating custom graphics and content for LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, which significantly enhanced our online presence. She also worked with our website developer to design a Giving Tuesday-specific page that allowed for real-time donation tracking.
Beyond her technical contributions, Lynzie played a critical role in donor engagement. She successfully secured three new partnerships—Taco Mama, Daughter’s Baking, and Bendy’s Cookies and Ice Cream—generating $1,507.50 in in-kind contributions. These partnerships helped Grace Klein Community expand its network and resources, making a meaningful difference in our work.

Lynzie’s impact extended far beyond marketing. She helped plan and execute the Giving Tuesday event, ensuring that every detail was carefully managed. From volunteer coordination to event setup, her leadership was crucial in making the event a success. Thanks to her hard work, the event raised $9,160, which will directly support our FEEDBHM initiative—providing nutritious food to food-insecure families in Birmingham and surrounding communities.
Her ability to meet deadlines, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with our team was exceptional. Although public speaking is not her strength, Lynzie presented a Giving Tuesday idea to our 35-member team and represented Grace Klein Community at a Chamber event, stepping out of her comfort zone with professionalism.
Throughout her time at Grace Klein Community, Lynzie not only grew in her marketing and leadership abilities but also developed valuable personal insights. She says, “Working at Grace Klein Community has been a transformative experience. I have learned valuable leadership skills, honed my marketing expertise, and been inspired by the kind, compassionate people I had the privilege to work with. Their passion for serving others and working for God has left a lasting impression on me.”
From a mentor’s perspective, Lynzie’s growth was remarkable. Her dedication and initiative were clear from the start, and her contributions have left a lasting impact on our organization. It was a joy to watch her grow and take on new challenges, and we are incredibly proud of all that she accomplished during her internship.
Lynzie’s experience at Grace Klein Community exemplifies the power of hard work, service, and dedication to God’s work. As she reflects on her time here, she encourages others to consider interning with us: “If you are considering an internship at Grace Klein Community, I highly encourage you to say yes. This opportunity has prepared me not only for my career but also for a life of service and purpose.”
