HOME UPDATE:

BIRTHDAYS- On April 1st, 2024, Charity celebrated her 19th birthday. Following her, Jane turned 11 on April 12th, 2024. Continuing the series of celebrations, April 13th, 2024, marked Austin’s 20th birthday, and Michael celebrated his 11th birthday on April 18th, 2024. In the month of April, a delightful celebration was organized to commemorate these significant milestones in their lives.

SCHOOLS- In April, the children dedicated their time and energy to getting ready for the approaching end-of-term exams. They were looking forward to the upcoming break, hoping it would give them a chance to relax and rejuvenate.

KWATHU SCHOOL REPORT

In April, our school was buzzing with activity as our students geared up to take their end-of term exams. These exams help us gauge each student’s progress and performance throughout the term. Finally, on April 26th, we bid farewell as the school closed its doors for a brief break. It was a short holiday, only a weeklong, as we started the first term a bit later than planned. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back on May 6th, 2024, for the start of the second term. It’s going to be an exciting time filled with new lessons, experiences, and opportunities for growth!

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES- In April, our pupils enthusiastically participated in extracurricular activities. They engaged in planting maize corn and a variety of vegetables in our school garden. The students enjoyed getting their hands dirty and learning about the process of growing crops first-hand. It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved, fostering teamwork and a greater appreciation for nature.

VISITATION- In the month under review, we had a wonderful visit from the children of Grace Ministry International. They engaged in various activities such as playing games, participating in a Bible quiz, and sharing snacks with the children at the Kwathu Home. It was a heartwarming and enjoyable time for everyone involved.

SCHOOL EXPANSION PROJECT

Expansion of the school building is progressing smoothly! The builders have successfully elevated the structure to window level and are currently installing the ring beam. Next, they will proceed with the final brickwork leading up to the roofing stage. It’s exciting to see the project taking shape as per the initial plan!

COMMUNITY FEEDING PROGRAM

In April, our community initiative successfully provided nutritious meals to 25 households facing economic difficulties and struggling to afford three meals a day. This act of kindness takes place consistently every Friday at noon.

KIDS FUN OUTING

The children at Kwathu Home had an amazing day full of laughter, smiles, and happiness because we wanted to give them a special treat by taking them out for a fun day.

EASTER CELEBRATIONS

Easter is a wonderful holiday filled with joy, kindness, and generosity. Our children, joined by their pals from the neighborhood, gathered to commemorate Easter in a truly delightful and heartwarming fashion. The celebration of Easter brought so much happiness to all who participated.

KWATHU FARM

Despite the low rainfall, we are so grateful for the opportunity to cultivate maize on our farm, all thanks to the use of drip irrigation. Also, one of our goats gave birth to an adorable baby goat, and we were also able to restock the farm with new chicks. Such blessings!
