COMMUNITY HOMES

THE HOUSE ON THE HILL

The House on the Hill welcomes and equips individuals to thrive through an intimate relationship with Jesus. The home serves as a hub for hosting traveling missionaries, out-of-state serve teams, worship nights, potluck dinners, and various celebrations. The homes provide a place for healing from personal pain, rebuilding of family and relationship trust, and learning forgiveness. As individuals grow in their gifts and abilities, they are empowered to contribute meaningfully to the lives of others, fostering a community of service and spiritual growth.

The House on the Hill is a space that “becomes all things to all people” as it provides a platform to host monthly non-profit collective mentor groups, ladies’ nights, a space for intentional worship and prayer nights, a space for the community to gather and share a meal, to host bible studies, etc.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

THE RIDGE HOUSE

“The Ridge House” provides safe, stable, low costing housing to men within the surrounding area. The house not only stands as a home for its tenants, but as a symbol of God’s work through the hands and feet of the body of Christ, and a resting place for friends, missionaries and members of Grace Klein Community. Love is what makes it beautiful. God brought members of His church together to revitalize a house that creates an escape to worship and speak to God, a place to meet in fellowship to learn about and glorify God, a home for men using their lives to encourage those around them and grow in their walks with the Lord, and a place for the weary traveling missionary to take refuge and rest. God took this stone, rejected by its builders, and through the hard work of so many gracious friends, families, and volunteers, made this house into a cornerstone for our community.

“The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.”

ACRES & ACRES

The name Acres and Acres is inspired by a 2016 movie based on the best-selling novel by St. John (Singe) Greene, a story that embodies risk, courage, and undying love. At Acres and Acres, our mission is to love deeply. We aim to provide a haven for youth, young adults, and families to connect through serve opportunities, youth retreats, and marriage retreats. Whether it’s taking the boys fishing for some father-son bonding, gathering the whole family around a campfire to worship Jesus together, or sharing and reflecting on the incredible works God is doing in our city and nation, Acres and Acres is a place for meaningful connections and spiritual growth.

We love you for “Acres and Acres” and trust your visit will be restful, rejuvenating and encouraging to you, your friends and family.

Let’s get to plowing!

“Acres & Acres is a living parable of how God transforms our lives.  Although I did not always appreciate or understand GKC, God used the organization to lovingly pursue me.  Seeing Acres for the first time, I recalled Hosea 10:12.  This verse is a snapshot of a greater call to repent made by the prophet Hosea.  He used an example (parable) of fallow or uncultivated ground to describe Israel’s current attitude towards God.  “Sow to yourselves righteousness, reap in mercy; break up for fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.”

Everyone has places in their hearts which are fallow.  I felt my past experiences made me too broken, barren or useless for God to use.  I only let God go so far in my life because of my fears and failures.  There were other things I withheld from God due to my own ambition or pride.  I told God, these aspects of my life are off limits to you.  I was miserable, lonely and hiding.
Despite all my hardness of heart, God still pursued me.  Seeds planted by others in my community, and GKC, led me down a path of repentance whereby I began “sowing and reaping”.  Suddenly the hard places of my heart were being broken and I began living for Jesus in a radical way by serving with my family at Acres.

The proportion of what we sow versus what we gain (reap) in Christ is exceedingly and abundantly above all we ask or think.  We sow and reap at Acres, planting seeds of righteousness in faith and receiving the promises of Jesus Christ when he said, “Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled.”  These riches of God’s glory have rooted and grounded our family in Christ’s love and it continues to break the fallow ground of my heart to this day.” – Andrew Glass, Community Home Host.

“We’ll fill our lives with what we cultivate the most. Plant grace by the acre.” — Bob Goff

THE EAGLE’S NEST

Grace Klein Community’s heart for The Eagle’s Nest is to be a place of comfort, peace, and rest while throwing in the twigs and leaves of new challenges, opportunities and exposure to grow, develop and expand its residents to share, worship, build genuine relationships, and host guests from near and far. Community calls each of us to vulnerability, honesty, and unity. We learn how to share what we have, choosing an “others first” life, where what is mine is yours. As we trust, listen, and learn, God grows us and uses our brokenness to relate and encourage one another.

From the Nest:

“Moving into the Eagle’s Nest was not exactly what I had in mind. But isn’t that what God does? “Teeing us up” for a moment of divine grace and provision.
A nest, by design, is a place to rest. A place to grow, hatch and find your wings. Maybe for the first time. For me, it has been a place to heal and find my wings again. Settling into the Grace Klein Community has been hard and beautiful. Community has stretched me, challenged me, humbled me and given my heart and mind a place to rest.

A deep rest I didn’t know I needed.

I have begun to dream again, to truly partner with God on what He has for me in the next season. I am forever grateful for what God has already done in this season and expectant for what lies ahead in the days to come.” – Nicole L.

“But those who entwine their hearts with Yahweh will experience divine strength. They will rise up on soaring wings and fly like eagles, run their races without growing weary, and walk through life without giving up.”

–   ISAIAH 40:31   –
