Thank you for considering a donation to Grace Klein Community for #GivingTuesday

Labworks is sponsoring a matching gift for the first $5,000 raised through this fundraiser!

This year, we pray that you would find joy in giving. Because of your generosity, Grace Klein Community is able to #FeedBHM!   Since the pandemic began, Grace Klein Community distributes rescued food 5-days per week to 4 drive-thru locations across Birmingham.  Over 25,000 households have been helped and over 101,000 people have been fed. Grace Klein Community rescued over $1.2M in food, diverting it from becoming landfill waste, and putting it in the hands of those in need. Because of our partnerships across Birmingham, Grace Klein Community is able to #FeedBHM for just $1.07 per meal.

In 2020, food insecurity impacted over 1 million people in Alabama: 22% of the adult population and 32% of the children in our state. Food scarcity is continuing to increase as food banks, farmers, and grocers have been disrupted. The repercussions of COVID-19 include added hardship for already vulnerable populations as well as a significant increase in the number of people experiencing food insecurity.  Since the pandemic, we have experienced a “perfect storm” that includes surges in demand, declines in food donations, and limitations on volunteers. The COVID-19 crisis has dealt a swift blow to the physical, emotional and economic health of individuals across our community and the effects have the potential to be long-term.(1)

Your partnership and support allows us to deliver a message of hope through rescued food.

All funds received will support our efforts to provide nutritious options to individuals in our state. We consider you a valuable member of Grace Klein Community and extend our deepest gratitude for your donation to our ongoing food sharing opportunities!

Together we will make the world a better place.

All donors over $100 will receive a #FeedBHM shirt as a “Thank-You”!
