Galleria Woods – Gift Wrapping

  • by

Grace Klein Community is so thankful to have help wrapping gifts at Christmas. Many community members, businesses, churches, individuals, families, and small groups donated “Gifts for the Forgotten.” For many years we have focused our Christmas giving towards those often rejected, ignored, or forgotten; HIV/Aids patients, sanitation workers and children of our food delivery recipients. We had a closet and office overflowing with gifts that needed to be wrapped. Every year we need help!

Wrapping PartyDecember has truly been a month of encouragement. Seeing community come together, offering to contribute gifts, donate wrapping paper, tissue paper, tape, and bags, wrap gifts, and distribute to those intended for, has been a great gift.

A family hosted a neighborhood gathering at their home, inviting friends to help wrap gifts. Their home was filled with children who were more than eager to get involved. What a great way to serve together as families.

An individual offered to contribute her time to wrap items. From the comfort of her own home, she wrapped gifts and prayed over each item, while listening to her favorite Christmas music.

Wrapping PartyOther families and individuals offered to sponsor children for Christmas, make noise on social media about gift drives, or volunteer to deliver gifts to those least expecting! Some were stretched beyond their comfort zone, traveling to homes of “strangers,” meeting new families, and being challenged to walk in utmost obedience to how the Lord leads folks to share Jesus this Christmas. Another called her “besties” to join her in delivering gifts!

For several years, the residents of the Galleria Woods Retirement Home have helped wrap the gifts. What a huge contribution they are to all of us. We are thankful for their enthusiasm, attention to detail, and the love they share in wrapping the gifts. On December 14, 2016, Galleria Woods hosted another wrapping party in support of Grace Klein Community. The atmosphere was so festive! What a treat to spend a couple hours with these sweet ladies, while enjoying cookies, refreshments, Christmas carols, and a delicious vanilla cake, decorated in the shape of a Christmas tree, baked by a young volunteer.
