Shane and Mitzi had been praying and looking for ways to serve with their boys and monthly food delivery was the perfect fit for their family. They delivered for months with the Varvoutis family, enjoying the fellowship as families, while building intentional friendships with their food delivery recipient families. Soon the Eaker’s were requesting their own food delivery route.

One of Mitzi’s ladies needed some help updating her house into a home and Mitzi prayed about how she could help. She talked to some friends and rounded up a village that came together to help paint, decorate and furnish her Grace Klein Community friend’s home. Mitzi understands the power of a community, over the impact of one person, and she brought many people together to help her love and support her dear friend.

269045_2130805386285_1218666_nSpeaking of uniting communities, when the 2011 storms hit our community, Mitzi passionately and aggressively responded, creating an effective initiative called Kids4AL where families from all over the country shipped shoeboxes full of hope for kids directly affected by the tornadoes. Mitzi is gifted with vision and implementation and partnered with Grace Klein Community using our building facility as one of the drop off locations for the shoeboxes of hope, as well as engaging community members to get involved.

Mitzi is a leading innovator in social media impact and has donated training toward the most effective use of social media to Grace Klein Community through her expertise and business, Mitzi Jane Media. She has taught us how to inspire social media campaigns and has generously promoted many of our Grace Klein Community events.

IMG_4700When a storm hit Oklahoma, Mitzi created a Dreams of Hope Pillowcase Drive and helped Grace Klein Community collect over 200 intentionally filled pillowcases that were delivered with a trailer load of other collected supplies to Oklahoma.

Her family has been involved with Monday night prayer gatherings, sampling Brazilian food at the Brazilian Luau or dropping off donations at the Give and Take Room. She loves people and gives freely. She is also willing to receive when her family has a need (i.e. she had a medical procedure and needed meals for her own family.)

Recently, Mitzi and her family have participated in Family Fun Nights and promoted Grace Klein Community at local fall festivals. She has trained other community volunteers on Periscope and she personally created Periscope videos for our event at Rojo and our booth at the Mt Laurel Fall Festival.

Mitzi is a bundle of energy, a glass half full dreamer and initiator. Everything she does is “go big or go home” and we are all the better for it!
