Position Overview:
Grace Klein Community is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Volunteer and Serve Team Coordinator Assistant to support the Volunteer and Serve Team Coordinator in recruiting, organizing, and managing volunteers and Serve Teams. The Assistant will play a key role in ensuring that our volunteers are engaged, equipped, and empowered to make a positive impact within our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Volunteer Recruitment Support:
- Assist in implementing strategies to recruit volunteers from diverse backgrounds and skill sets.
- Support outreach efforts through social media, community events, and volunteer fairs to attract potential volunteers.
- Collaborate with the Coordinator to promote volunteer opportunities and raise awareness of GKC’s mission.
- Volunteer Onboarding and Training Assistance:
- Aid in coordinating orientation sessions and training workshops for new volunteers.
- Assist in providing resources, materials, and guidance to ensure volunteers are prepared for their roles.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a volunteer handbook outlining expectations, policies, and procedures.
- Volunteer Coordination Support:
- Assist in scheduling volunteers for shifts and assignments based on organizational needs.
- Help maintain communication with volunteers regarding upcoming opportunities, updates, and appreciation efforts.
- Support efforts to foster a positive and supportive volunteer environment.
- Serve Team Support:
- Assist in cultivating relationships with volunteers and serve team leaders to enhance volunteer engagement.
- Support the Coordinator in identifying opportunities for specialized serve teams based on program needs.
- Provide assistance and resources to serve team leaders to ensure effective leadership and coordination.
- Data Management Assistance:
- Support the Coordinator in maintaining accurate records of volunteer information, hours contributed, and impact metrics.
- Assist in generating reports and analytics to evaluate volunteer engagement and program effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement, or related fields is a plus.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Passion for social justice, community empowerment, and serving those in need.
- Spanish speaking /bilingual preferred but not required

- Flexibility to assist with occasional evening and weekend events or volunteer activities.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced non-profit environment.
