(Preface: Throughout our new season this last year in Senegal Enza and I had been praying for a new community to grow with. With great rejoicing we eventually found 4 other couples with kiddos who were eager to adventure with us in Dakar upon our return next month.)
A little update of our summer in America so far…
We need people. We had people… we just knew deeply how we were made to sharpen and live closely with other believers. And as I sit here now, closing nearly three weeks with Grace Klein in Birmingham, the miracle of holy community makes me breathless still.
In small ways I have noticed that I’m getting used to a healthy community again. The kind that Jesus and the first Church talked about: where two or three are gathered, confessing sin, praying for one another, carrying burdens, forgiving each other, being patient and perfectly united.* That kind. It exists. And we’re a part of it. The Church. In America and abroad. We’ve found people and continue to meet dear brothers and sisters to join so that all may know we are His by our love. (John 13:35)
Three weeks in Birmingham this summer was spent in Birmingham walking, sweating, praying and rejoicing with our brothers and sisters of Grace Klein. We were blessed in infinite ways! It was hard work and a lot of fun. Please if you ever get a chance to meet or volunteer with Grace Klein – DO IT!
We are forever grateful our lives crossed. We stand together on different continents supporting each other in prayer and strategy for Kingdom love and change to take effect in our home communities. Thank you! Merci!
