LXP Lesotho Ministry – USA Trip / Camp Testimonies / Prayer Requests

USA VISIT 2023

Last week we returned home from 6 weeks in the US. We were so blessed to see family and friends in Alabama, Texas, Arkansas, Illinois, and Colorado! Thank you to everyone who blessed us this trip with their time, love, encouragement, and financial support. One of the highlights was a huge answer to prayer; Godfrey successfully completed his naturalization process and is now a US citizen! This allows us to reside in Lesotho and travel as needed, not just to meet his US residency requirements.

Back in Lesotho: What’s Next?

Immediately upon arrival we were met with the tragic news of Godfrey’s older sister’s passing in a car accident on July 22nd. This has been a horrible shock on top of jet lag and transitioning to life back home. We will continue supporting one another as a family and preparing for her funeral on August 12th. Please keep our family in your prayers. Schools reopen on August 1, so we are gearing up to get back into that routine. Pray for Sophie and Liam as they reunite with classmates and teachers and adjust to school in winter after 6 weeks of traveling in summer.

We rejoined our LXP ministry team for the Saturday Youth Program this weekend and are excited to see how they have continued to grow together in faith during the winter school holidays. Some youth who had attended Thursday’s Community Bible Study visited Elizabeth and the kids at home to encourage them with prayer and share from the scripture they’d been reading.
Things are still holding steady at the Connect Cafe coffee shop and cake business, and we are looking forward to implementing some changes in that business in the weeks to come. Stay tuned! It is our dry, cold winter season now in Lesotho and our prayer is to be able to repair water damage in our house and build a drainage system in the yard to prevent it from recurring before the rainy season begins in November. We need $3,500 to do this. Please consider giving toward this need. We are also looking for more partners to give monthly toward our ministry and family expenses. Recurring or one-time donations can be sent online at www.gracekleincommunity.com/donate and Select: Global: Leadership Experience in Lesotho (tax-deductible) or via PayPal [email protected].

Youth Camp Testimonies

In April we had an awesome kids and youth camp with our regular Saturday Program attendees and some friends from Maseru. We were blessed to have the Fynn family serving with us from Bethlehem, South Africa, too. The camp theme was “Betla Tsela/Make Your Own Way” and it was so powerful to examine how God calls each one of us to adventure with God on His unique path for our lives! We chatted with some of our campers, asking them what they learned from the sessions and activities and how God has used those lessons to impact their lives. It’s our privilege to share those testimonies with you:

Matefo: At camp I learned about God, and myself that life is meaningless without Him. Again I learned that God is my direction in life. As the compass gives direction, the torch gives light, and the binoculars helps us to see clearly, God also gives us tools to walk with Him. During one of the night games, I also learned that it can be hard to walk in darkness and to seek and find something, but God also helps us in the dark to find Him

Kamohelo: I learned from Mrs. Elizabeth that we need to take off our “worldly lenses” and put on God’s lenses which is the word of God, which will give me proper guidance.

Moeketsi: At camp I learned more about prayer that prayer will help me to walk in the light and also to find direction in darkness. I also learned more about being an honest person, before camp I used to live a life of lies. But during camp I made a choice to be honest. (1 Corinthians 13:7)
