BIRTHDAYS – Gertrude turned 20 on March 11th, and Morgan turned 7 on March 26th.
CHILDREN’S PLAY – Learning through play. Children had a blast playing and learning as they continued their journey towards a brighter future. We made sure that the children also developed through play.
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY – On March 8th, Kwathu women, supported by Kwathu men, joined the rest of the world in celebrating Women’s Day. Women’s Day celebrations included men supporting.
KWATHU SCHOOL REPORT – The month of March was another exciting month because the two major activities were accomplished. Teaching and learning went on well without any interruption. On March 10th, the school had a sports activity in athletics. On this day, students were divided into their respective houses, thus naming the events “inter-house,” to identify the best runners. Among the houses were Luangwa, Zambezi, and Kafue. Luangwa was the best team.
On March 24th, the school had an educational tour and students were taken to Mukuni Big 5 where they saw different animals. The end-of-term exams started on March 27th and will continue through April 4th.

CLINIC PROJECT – The clinic project has continued to progress stage by stage, while we are still waiting for the response from headquarters (Health Professionals Council of Zambia) over the license. The month of March was busy. We insulated the inside of the clinic with particle boards, and managed to get a few pieces of furniture for the clinic.
TAILORING PROJECT – The women are busy coming up with different designs. They are sewing uniforms, school bags using Chitenge materials, dresses, and many more.
FARM PROJECT – We stocked 4,500 fingerlings (small fish) in the fishpond and have constructed a chicken coop. In March, we brought in veterinary doctors to vaccinate the animals at the farm.
