My time as an intern in Nsoko, Swaziland is over. I now wait in Manzini, Swaziland for my team to arrive from Alabama so we can spend the week at our beloved carepoint, Lesibovu. It feels a little surreal that I am here. Time looking back has flown by. In the moment, it hasn’t. As a friend once put it, “the days are long, but the weeks are fast.” That is how my time has felt. I have been so thankful for my time here. It has been hard in the ways that God has challenged, stretched and taught me, but so good as those are usually some of the most fulfilling and rewarding times with The Lord.
He has taught me so much about His sovereignty in the plans for my summer. In looking back and thinking I may have taken a couple different roads than the one I did, I can see now His hand clearly over this and how divinely perfect it all is. He knows what He is doing:) He has taught me so much about faith and trust. There have been many days that were hard and I didn’t understand His call and I had to press into Him all the more, trusting in faith. In His stretching and challenging me, He taught me beautiful lessons in hope and thankfulness. Through days of tragedy and days of sweetness, all in all He has reminded me that He is good, all the time.
I know I have barely scratched the surface in all that The Lord has done and taught me this summer and am looking forward to great time spent with Him at home in reflection.
I am so excited to finish out my time here with my team and family at Lesibovu! Thank you so much for your prayers and support during this time! They are invaluable!
Love in Christ,
Marlena
