Middle Schoolers Unite!

IMG_6089Middle Schoolers Unite! is a new initiative in Birmingham, AL, with the mission to engage students through a new service club created to build character and leadership in our area youth, while empowering them to give back and serve.

We were so excited that Middle Schoolers Unite! contacted Grace Klein Community to schedule service days. They want to come serve regularly with community needs. Wow! Isn’t it amazing how God keeps sending more help?! We praise God for His gracious provision.

IMG_6059Approximately ten kids showed up at our office at 3:30pm on a Friday, August 21st. Did you read that? They came on a Friday afternoon!!! They walked in and went straight to work. The boys dried off leftover sodas and boxed them as part of clean up from the Brazilian Luau and preparation for our upcoming Love India night. Then, the boys prepared the chicken boxes with straw donated from our friend Kaliffa Oliveira. If you could have seen these boys pushing the wheelbarrows, full of straw, up a steep hill!! What determination they demonstrated! The girls helped sort clothing and then they swept AND mopped our entire office. The parents even helped by pulling needed clothing that will be going to Uganda with one of our partner ministries, Lifeline.

Grace Klein Community sends big hugs and huge encouragement to these middle schoolers who will grow up with an appreciation for serving, working unto the Lord with excellence, and giving free time to help others. We cannot wait to see the men and women these teenagers will become and how God will use them in the work force, in ministry and in their everyday lives.
