Sweet Baby Birds

Just wanted to share with you that God blessed me this a.m. with a surprise.   Some people may think this is silly, but to me, it was awesome!  Here’s what happened:

A wren made her nest right by our back door.  She laid 5 eggs, 4 of which hatched.  We watched the babies grow from pink uglies to small babies with wings and feathers.  This past Friday, one of the babies died and the other 3 got very still and didn’t move much.  After watching them be so active earlier, I started to worry about them.  On Sunday, they were still laying, huddled together so I called the Oak Mtn Wildlife Rescue and asked them what to do.  They told me to bring them in.

Well, Sunday afternoon I hauled 3 baby birds over there, praying that God would save them.  When we opened the top, they all flew out and were running around on the ground.  The lady there told me they were preparing to be fledglings (?) and that I should bring them back and hope they stayed around so that momma could find them.  Well, I was
sick thinking that I had doomed the babies since they had to be put out on the ground.

Got home and put them out and of course they ran in 3 different directions.I watched them and prayed all afternoon hoping that mom would find them all.  Well, about 7 p.m., I saw all 3 of the babies running up into the woods
behind our house with momma chirping and hovering over them.  Now, all I could do was ask that God remember His creation and ask Him to watch over the babies.

I prayed for the babies all day on Monday but was reminded each time I prayed that they were in His care and I had to let them go.  Every time I started to worry, I told myself that they were in His care!

Well, this morning I was outside watering the flowers and I hear a little chirp.  I look up at the bird feeder and what do I see!?!!?  A little baby bird (with no tail) sitting up there eating.  Then the other 2 flew up into the tree and the one feeding joined them.  I knew they were my babies because they were so little, there were 3 and they didn’t have tails.

OH MY!!!!  What an awesome God we have.  He took care of the baby birds!!!

The lesson for me is that if we just let go and know that God is taking care of things, He is FAITHFUL, even in the smallest of things.  These babies meant so much to me and God knew that.  He gave me one last look at them to know that they were OK and He had been faithful.  (Yes, I am crying!!!!)

God is so faithful.

Love you guys!

Matthew 10:26-30 – “So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.  What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.  Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”
