We are the Wilson family from Boaz, Alabama. Our beautiful daughter Beth was born with a rare syndrome called Pfieffer Syndrome type 2. It occurs in 1/200,000 births. Unfortunately we had no idea until the day she was born that anything was wrong. It has been a roller coaster ever since. Pfieffer syndrome caused all the sutures in her skull to fuse prematurely. This means that without cranial surgeries to release the sutures her brain will have no room to grow. Beth is 9 months old and has had 5 surgeries to address issues with the shunt in her head. Her first cranial surgery will be this summer with a specialist in Dallas. We are doing various fundraisers because insurance isn’t covering the cranial part of her surgery.
