Grace Klein Community will be hosting a yard sale in support of one of our partner ministries, the Kwathu Children’s Home, Zambia. The yard sale will be held from 7 AM til 2 PM on March 12, 2016, at 4223 Ashington Drive, Birmingham, AL 35242.
Kwathu Children’s Home is a non-profit, community faith-based home in Livingstone, Zambia that provides shelter, education, psychosocial support, care for HIV infected and affected children, and life skills to vulnerable children in a healthy, stable and safe environment.
You know what they say… “One person’s trash is another person’s treasure.” Yard Sales provide great opportunity of getting rid of a lot of unwanted stuff. We may not all be in the position to buy, however everyone can contribute in some small way. We encourage you to help support the yard sale by donating any unwanted items. This may also be a great opportunity to get your kids to clean out their rooms by encouraging them that giving from their overflow of toys, and other items, will greatly benefit children in Zambia, Africa.
Here’s some examples of items to donate: Toys, Games, Sporting Equipment, Bikes, Pet stuff, holiday merchandise, stuffed animals, frames, pictures, jewelry, belts, hats, books, CD’s Albums, instruments etc.
If you have items to donate towards the yard sale, donations can be dropped at our office, 2652 Old Rocky Ridge Road, Hoover, AL 35216. Please leave the items on the front porch if no one is at the office when you come by.
Perhaps you’re unable to give in tangible donations, or live too far to attend the yard sale. If you would still like to contribute, consider making an online donation to Grace Klein Community on behalf of the Kwathu Children’s Home. Your gift of finance will assist with the current building progress on the property, soon to be an administration block. In early December 2014, Kwathu began preparing the land for the foundation of the administration block on the property where the Social Worker’s office will be based, among other office. Regular and intentional time, sharing their hurts and happy moments with an adult who trusts in Christ, is crucial for the children to receive healing and restoration through Christ from past traumas.
