A Wine Ridge “Word in Worship” Night
They were met by friends of all ages and walks of life, all sharing a common desire to connect, to worship Jesus, and celebrate our Lord as we enter the season of celebration of His birth – Christmas.
Jonathan and Emily shared a mix of common worship and Christmas songs, along with songs that they had personally written. The couple graciously provided everyone attending with a sheet with the lyrics to all of the songs they sang, in the order that they were singing them, so that we could join them in worship. As songs would pass, Emily and Jonathan would pause to read Scripture God had put on their heart, and share stories relating the birth of Jesus to their family’s lives, and in turn the lives of each of us. Prayer requests were shared, and we, as a faith family, had the opportunity to pray over Jonathan, Emily, and their delightful son Judah. Delicious treats were provided for all to enjoy, and one friend even spent her afternoon decorating the community house to get us all in the Christmas spirit!
When the singing ended, Jonathan and Emily spent a bit more time with us in fellowship, and offered lyric art, Christmas décor, and various albums for purchase, as well as the opportunity to join their e-mail list. Each of us left the evening with a feeling of refreshment and joy in each other’s company with a renewed focus on the meaning of the season. Christmas is a celebration of Christ’s birth, and our salvation through His life, death and resurrection.
We are so thankful for how God used Jonathan and Emily to minister to us, and for the time and travel they invested to make this time of worship happen.
