Making Connections in Belize

“Our family of four traveled to Belize in May knowing there’s always something unexpected waiting there. We took some computer equipment to the small village of Bomba, far back in the jungle, hoping to give the people there, and specifically the school kids, access to information. Here in the US, we take for granted the amount of information we have access to on a constant basis. The kids in this…Keep Reading

Showing the Love of Christ to a Village in the Jungle

A small team is headed to Belize in May to help set up a computer lab in the small, remote village of Bomba. Bomba has a population of around 70 people and they depend mostly on tourism for their income. Tourists who visit the coast can take boat trips up the river into Bomba where the villagers have shops set up to sell beautiful handmade artwork. The people of Bomba…Keep Reading

Belize Mission Trip, August 2015

Prayers Quickly and Visibly Answered Like so many wonderful journeys, our journey to Belize began with a prayer. Many good friends gathered in community, praying for our safe travel, among several other specific prayer requests. Now, as I’ve returned to the United States and reflected, I would describe the mission trip as “A journey of prayer most quickly and visibly answered.” In each and every aspect,  a prayer request specifically given was answered with God’s…Keep Reading

Belize Mission Trip August 14 – 17, 2015

Give instruction to a wise man and he will still be wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” – Proverbs 9:9-10 Education. Upcoming Trip to Belize

Mother Teresa once said “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” A small team is going to Belize in early August, hoping to make some ripples. Our team will be working on these projects: Zion Park Elementary – this is a small elementary school in a small village in the jungle. All of the children and teachers walk or bike to…Keep Reading

From the Field

It is hard for us to believe that we are already in the middle of June. It is hot in Belize and the sporadic rain has begun. One of our most recent projects was the installation of our water tank to catch rain water from the roof. The tank holds around 660 gallons and is already full. I am in the process of putting together a pressure pump that will…Keep Reading

Belize Updates

The third GKC mission trip to Belize was exciting, meaningful and worshipful. Our little team of 6 went and, to put it simply, just lived a Belizean lifestyle for 5 short days. What is a Belizean lifestyle? It’s a simple, unconstrained, rustic way of life where everyone knows one another and works together in their own villages and in cooperation with other villages. They need each other and are not…Keep Reading

Update from Belize

In mid-March, a team went to Belize through ZIMM Ministries to dig wells and deliver computers. They shared a wonderful story with us that we wanted to pass on to you because it is yet another example of how God longs for us to commune with Him for our answers. Their first priority was to dig a well for a lady they had visited last year, Ms. Mary. They had…Keep Reading
