Joyful Heart

Psalm 150 says, “Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and the flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.”

As a community of faith, we must Praise the LORD. Do we make music to the Lord? Do we dance? As long as we are alive, we are to praise Him. Often the Lord uses children to teach us how to praise Him. Many children have an amazing freedom from inhibitions that stunt worship. In their ability to be comfortable before God, they dance, sing and laugh with all they have.

One such girl is Kathryn Linderman. If we need an example of a joy that exudes, we should learn from her. She loves music and she loves dancing. Her hip hop is joy and her singing is that kind that makes you laugh. She has a song in her step. She’s the one with giggles and big hugs. The one who comes to share the helium and the first to say “I love you” with that awesome helium squeaky voice.

IMG_5842Grace Klein Community is better with Kathryn. She’s the one cutting out words for journals that will be sold to raise funds for Kwathu Children’s Home. She’s a Buck Book kid and willing to work at a home-school fair to educate other people about the Library and Music Academy project in Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa. Next you will find her helping set up appetizers and desserts for a ladies night her mom is hosting or introducing one of our missionaries at her American Heritage Girl’s meeting. Later, you may cross paths with her at the office where she’s coming up the steps with a bag of clothes or toys for the Give and Take Room. She may be helping her sister paint faces at a community night or playing with friends at the park. She is engaged in our community, a valuable member, always longing for everyone to be included and loved.

Let us praise the LORD together. Our God is good. We have great reason to dance and sing. May the joy of the Lord flood all our hearts as we learn from sweet girls like Kathryn.
