iRefer is a business networking group that is led by Trey Horton. He prayed for years for a non-profit organization that they could partner with that had a passion for intentional relationships, sharing and community involvement. When Karen Hardy told him about Grace Klein Community and he read our website, he was completely shocked. Everything that described us were almost verbatim to his prayers. He could not believe it! He asked for a lunch meeting and brought Molly Ledbetter along to talk about the dream of partnering together. The rest is history.
Every Tuesday iRefer members meet together to encourage, refer work and stand in the gap for one another. Every Tuesday, Grace Klein Community is able to share and invite members to get involved in the different areas where we serve. They have adopted us and we are honored to be “their” non-profit.
Trey Horton has so much energy, he is always on the go, a friend to all, generous, smiling and fun. He is an outgoing extrovert that our community needs. He motivates people to action because his excitement is contagious. His family helps with food box prep every month, he bought a big pack of meat for the frozen meal prep, he promotes our events on social media, he can be found at the Publix in Calera early Tuesday mornings for donation pickup, and his company, InterLink Mortgage Services, was a sponsor at our recent Ride for Hope motorcycle ride to benefit Swaziland… just to name a few. He is in the action. He’s a contributor and we cannot begin to remember all the ways he has helped better Grace Klein Community.
Luke 6:31- “And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.”
We love his passion for business and helping others be better. He treats people the way he would want to be treated. Trey lives out Luke 6:31 whether the world is watching or no one is watching. He puts others first because he knows that serving is loving others in front of his own self.
Trey and Scott are brainstorming for more ideas of how the businesses represented in Grace Klein Community can care for one another, build relationships and share business with each other to benefit not only each other, but more importantly, the advance of the Kingdom of God. When we improve and stabilize businesses, we help free up resources to invest in such things as the Kwathu Children’s Home in Zambia, the single mom in Birmingham, AL, that needs a car, the family struggling with overage medical bills as they battle cancer, or the kids that need lunch at a school in Belize. We had our first business networking event at the Rogue Tavern a few months back and more are coming.
